Le Petit Organic - Stylish & Eco Friendly Fashion For Kids

Confession: I am an online shopper. There. I said it. It's quick, it's convenient and I safe a lot on parking. (read: I safe a lot on parking tickets, because I never pay for parking. It's the risk of getting caught that is too  much of a thrill to pass on...)

Before the big eco friendly clothes trend started, I did have my resentments. Whenever I heard 'eco friendly' I couldn't help but instantly think "tree-hugging". Now, while I do have an environmental concience, I'm just not hardcore green. I lack the discipline for it. So, the superficial fashion part of my brain clearly had a blind spot for eco friendly clothing, because style trumps sustainability.

Thank God style and eco friendliness (is that a word?) go hand in hand these days. And thank God for people like the owner of New York based online kids boutique Le Petit Organic who make it so much easier for us mums to dress their kids fashionable. With a fine selection of brands like Indikidual, Mini and Maximus, Mói and NoSweet - just to name a few - Le Petit Organic clearly fills the void in the market for stylish and sustainable kid's fashion.

But wait, there's more! Let's just not forget about the human side of things. At Le Petit Organic customer service seems to be spelled with caps lock on. Yep, like CUSTOMER SERVICE, because it's just that awesome. I've witnessed it myself when ordering from their site. When I ran into a little shipping problem at checkout - the system didn't know Germany (I always had a feeling that we're merely a kid's fashion wasteland of some sort) - the issue was handled quickly and in such a great manner that I will most likely never forget it and more importantly, that I will definitely be a returning customer.

Dress To Impress | Slyfox Threads

Sometimes, some photos just go wrong. In 99.9% of the time because you made them wait too long. Look at Ashley's face for example. She doesn't have to say "Gosh, mum...so unprofessional!"...it's all there already. A very loud sigh included. And Grace? She's playing the old "let's pinch him till he snaps and jumps me so that he'll get in trouble"-game. That's Grace for you. What she still doesn't understand: This game is best played when I'm not looking. You'll get there, little one. Romeo doesn't really mind, though. The only concern he had at that moment was what's for dinner. I can hear his little internal monologue: "I really hope it's pasta. No, wait...didn't she say something about rice? OUCH! What was that? But I really want pasta. Rice is ok, too, though. Ugh, I'm really hungry now." So there you have it. The shots in between the ones with the cool poses are indeed the best.

Here's a confession: I have a thing for prints. Slap a whitty/funny/quirky slogan on a shirt and you have a guaranteed customer. Really. I could stare at these kind of shirts for hours, laughing on the inside. With some occasional snorting on the outside, too, depending on what the shirt says. I'm just very easy to entertain, I guess. I also have this idea that some things were made for my kids. This Slyfox Threads tank for example. "Show Love"? Yes, of course! "Young and Free" should read "Young and Eccentric", though.

That's why I was super excited when Slyfox Threads asked me to be a Slyfox Threads 2014 Brand Enthusiast. How could I turn down an offer like this? They have some nice pieces for us mums as well. Like this or this. These work well with any mum uniform.

Quality Time With Ms A

I grew up as an only child, so I have no idea what it means to share your parents with another sibling. Now, as a mother of three, I know what it means to try and devide my attention evenly among my kids and the guilty concience that comes along with failing at it.This is why I cherish moments like these. While the littles were busy with their English class, Ashley and I had 45 minutes of uninterrupted 'big girls' time. It may not be enough to really catch up on everything that's going on in her life, but that doesn't even matter. The important thing is that it's just the two of us.

To see her excitement when it's all about her is priceless. And boy can this girl talk! I think my mother would disagree, but she doesn't get that from me. Not that I don't like to chat, I'm a woman after all, but it's different with her. It seems like she has about 34 different ideas/stories/comments in mind that she wants to get out all at once, which tends to be a bit confusing at times. While telling me about the trip to the water reservoir the other day and the 200+ stairs she had to climb to the top (Kudos to her. Personally, I would've started to look for an elevator after 30 stairs.) the Eiffel Tower somehow managed to force itself into her memory. So in the end she actually climbed all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower and was so surprised to see that it doubles as a tourist attraction and well...a water reservoir. That was news to me, too, actually.

I'm already looking forward to hearing about her little adventures next week. I really hope it's something about outer space, though. I'm having a bit of a sci-fi phase right now...
